About the diet

This detox diet is about ditching processed foods, sugar, salt and additives in favour of nutrient-packed fresh food.  You can aid digestion, boost your immunity and restore your body to peak health, by consuming the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre found in fresh food.

Food You Can Eat on a Detox Diet:

  • Vegetables
  • Fresh fruit
  • Salad
  • Fresh herbs
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Pulses
  • Unrefined non-wheat cereals – wholegrain (brown) rice, oats, millet, rye, buckwheat
  • Non-wheat bread – rye bread, wheat-free, pumpernickel
  • Non-wheat pasta – corn, millet or rice pasta
  • Non-wheat crispbreads – rye, ricecakes, oatcakes
  • Tofu and quorn
  • Non-dairy milk – soya, rice, oat, almond or sesame ‘milk’
  • Extra virgin olive oil, rapeseed, walnut, ground flaxseeds (linseeds)
  • Cold-pressed oil blends containing a mixture of omega-3-rich and omega-6-rich oils.
  • Water, herbal or fruit tea, pure fruit juice

Food You Cannot Eat on a Detox Diet:

  • Meat
  • Fish
  • Wheat bread, pasta, noodles, crackers
  • Dairy products
  • Eggs
  • White rice
  • Ready meals
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Artificial food additives
  • Fried foods
  • Cakes, biscuits, conectionery
  • Arficial sweeteners
  • Hydrogenated fats
  • Fizzy drinks
  • Squashes and cordials
  • Coffee, tea and other caffeine drinks (including decaffeinated drinks)
